Chayton Atlas Investments ("Chayton") is a vertically integrated agribusiness hub which will comprise several farms in Zambia and potentially other countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, growing food crops for the local market and thereby contributing to import substitution.
Chayton will focus on primary production farming under irrigation, mainly wheat, maize and soya. Vertical integration will be achieved by investing in grain drying, storage, processing and distribution services to the company farms and potentially other farms in the area. These will create economies of scale and facilitate the establishment of a vertically-integrated regional agribusiness operation.
The acquired farms so far are situated in the Mkushi block along the north-south corridor with access to the copper belt and Democratic Republic of Congo to the north and Zimbabwe to the south.
