The Norfund Conference 2025

The annual Norfund Conference will be held on Thursday, May 15th, at Taket Steen & Strøm in Oslo.

Date: Thursday 15th of May

Time: 12:30-16:00 (lunch served from 12:00, and networking until 17:30)

Location: Taket Steen & Strøm, Oslo

We will explore the risks and dilemmas we face in our investment processes (including what happens when we fail…), dive into the compatibility of reduction of climate emissions and profitable investments, and ask if it is possible to recycle out of our problems. We will offer food for thought, challenge assumptions and keep you engaged throughout the conference.

You will meet international experts, the Norfund team, our partners and portfolio companies. We will keep you fuelled throughout the conference and have plenty of time to network.

Can we recycle out of our problems?

Materials such as plastic and paper are essential for modern economies, yet they also contribute to pollution, deforestation, and landfills.

Recycling is part of the solution, but its role is not straightforward. How do we on the one hand ensure that good intentions don’t end up greenwashing unviable business models, and on the other avoid that perfection becomes the enemy of good?

Will recycling create more jobs, or will better waste management just displace informal waste pickers?
