Our people

Norfund has Norway’s largest team specialized in investing in developing countries. Three quarters of Norfund employees work directly with investments.

Our employees have diverse backgrounds, with knowledge and experience relevant to our investment areas, including experience in development finance, project management, industrial and financial expertise and ESG competence. Norfund has invested in developing countries since 1997, and continuously builds and develops the expertise needed to invest and manage risks in order to succeed as an investor.

In addition we have employees with specialist competence in organization and HR, legal, strategy, communication and finance.

Variety in cultural backgrounds, competency, age and gender make us think differently, approach challenges differently and identify solutions from a broad perspective. Diversity gives us insight that helps us better understand opportunities and risks.

The Norfund Conference is arranged once a year. The conference is an important opportunity to show our stakeholders what Norfund does and how we contribute to development and the fulfillment of our mandate.

The Norfund Week

Gathering all Norfund employees

Every fall we arrange the Norfund week, our annual strategy meeting for all Norfund employees. This week of training, collaboration, hard work and fun is a highlight for all of us and an important arena to retain and develop the Norfund culture. The week is also a great introduction and opportunity for new employees.

Discussing important issues

To explore new challenges and perspectives across the markets where we operate.

Exchanging cultural practices

We take pride in the 33 nationalities represented in our team, learning from each other’s cultures and how they influence the way we invest.

The Internship Program

Norfund offers an off-cycle internship program for undergraduate and graduate students. As an intern you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team, learning about areas such as investments, portfolio analysis or stakeholder dialogue.

The Norfund Way

The Norfund Way forms the basis of our corporate culture. It is an integrated part of the company’s Governance Framework, Code of Conduct, as well as the business processes. We aim to have a corporate culture which is specific and concrete, describing what types of attitudes and actions we believe best promote Norfund’s mandate.

The Norfund Way is an expression of how we act when we are working for Norfund, and at our best. The five action driven values describe the attitudes and behaviors we believe are most important to promote and deliver on Norfund’s mandate, starting with our individual attitude and ending with how we interact with our community.
