In 2011, Norfund joined a subordinated Tier II syndication arranged by FMO. Due to Sacombank’s SMEs focus, strong sponsor (FMO) and strong development impact (Tier II capital is a new instrument in Vietnam), Norfund decided to go forward with the transaction. Sacombank is the third largest privately owned bank in Vietnam with a large branch network distribution. The core target market is MSMES operating in Vietnam.
